Wild animals vs pets - animal rights?

Many people campaign for animal rights, usually wild animals which may become an endangered species. This is obviously a good thing because the disappearance of a species has an enormous effect on the environment. Have you ever considered what would happen if, for example, bees disappeared from our planet?

But I often wonder about what we do for our pets. Are they less important than other animals, maybe? What makes us decide to have a pet, taking care of him or comforting ourselves? Is it fair to have them in a flat? Living in a city? Are we being a bit selfish? In any case, what are our priorities?

Let's go digital ... or not?

We are living in an age where absolutely everything is or can be done digitally. Our world has become a digital world: television channels, mobile phones, books, music, films ... they are all digital.

This is not a problem in itself as digital gadgets make life more comfortable for us in many ways. The problem is the use we make of them or how "hooked" we are, for example, with facebook or whatsapp. I think whatsapp is a great invention which allows you to communicate easily and fast; it replaces a telephone call and serves a purpose. However some people spend hours and hours with this app. They make groups, they send photographs, jokes, proverbs, links... It is not only communication here, but also a way of spending time, of getting "entertainment". And that's where I get doubts.

Improve??? Yes, you can!

Sometimes we tend to think that there is no room for improvement, and we feel at a dead end. We do the homework, try to study ... and nothing happens; our results are not what we expected.

I am sure that if we take the time to think about it, we will find some aspects that can be improved just by making an effort and changing 'bad' habits or routines. So, that's the question: what can we do to improve?

The Government's cuts

I think that the government's cuts or "retallades" are intended only to promote their political interests, such as cutting public health to name the private benefits and thus have the sirecor this company. It could also be that the cuts were to fix the country and they are appropriate. What do you think?

Gay marriage

I'm a christian, protestan, anabapist menonite but i'm not against the gay marriage or the homosexual relations because I think that it is love and it doesn't matter, the genere, the race, the age, the nationality and the thoughts of the couple; only matters the true love. Now, this is more a religion feel but I think that God loves all the people, and the homosexuals too because they're human.

Winter or Summer?

I like the summer because I can go sunbathing with my friends, bathe on the beach, in the pool. I also like the atmosphere, the days are longer, prettier. But I also like winter because I can go skiing, and also because it's Christmas.

Sant Jordi ... a book or a rose?

Every year on 23rd April the city's streets and squares become more alive with the little book stalls with the last bestsellers scattered here and there. The flowershops sell roses of all types and colours; the streets get crowded with people browsing books or buying a rose. It's one of the most beautiful customs I know of. It is great to see people at the book stalls in Les Rambles (or any other part of the city) making up their minds about THE BOOK they are going to buy for the loved one. And the colourful bunch of roses ...
What do I like getting for Sant Jordi? Well, will you be surprised if I answer "Both"? I am what the English call "a bookworm" - I love reading - and I love roses, too!!
